Respite, for when you need it.
Respite care (also known as Short Term Accommodation or Emergency Accommodation) provides an opportunity for the primary carer and family to have a break and recharge their mental and physical capacity whilst having time to stay connected with family and friends as well as continuing to enjoy hobbies and recreational activities independently.
Respite is also an opportunity for your loved ones to spend time away from home in a fully supported environment, building independent relationships and experiencing new places and activities whilst learning skills and building self-capacity.
What does respite look like for you? We tailor each STA to you, your needs and interests.

Our respite service is all about what unique experiences we can provide our participants in line with their individual interests and goals. We go the extra mile to make each STA a unique and memorable experience. Many of our participants opt for respite on Bribie Island due to its laid-back atmosphere, location and natural beauty. Some of the activities that we have offered to a wide range of participants include camping, 4WD days up Bribie Beach including nature immersion experience and WWII history, bike riding along the waterfront, fishing and boating including whale spotting, interacting with dolphins and turtles. At a slower pace, we can also offer more of an island respite retreat with our accommodation located a short walk from the water, shopping, a multitude of cafes and many other experiences a short drive away in the Brisbane North area. As with all of our services our respite is 100% customisable, allowing us to offer locations convenient to individual needs and interests ie Inner City experience, Countryside, Location to home etc. Many of the outdoors activities mentioned above we also offer as part of our adventure based day program RCSS Unleashed
