The NDIS is Australia’s first national Scheme for people with disability. It provides funding directly to individuals. 

  • What is the NDIS

    There are around 4.3 million Australians who have a disability. Within the next five years the NDIS will provide an estimated 500,000 Australians who have permanent and significant disability with funding for supports and services. For many people, it is the first time they receive the disability support they need.

  • How can I use my funding with RCSS?

    We work with you to put together the best support package to reach your goals. We can customise our support packages from once a week right up to round the clock support to help you with anything from daily tasks to accessing the community. accessing supports for additional community access hours.   • Core Funding

    Your Core budget is the most flexible, and includes:

    Daily Activities (e.g. assistance with self-care activities during the day or evening)

    Assistance with Social and Community Participation (e.g. supports to enable you to engage in social or recreational activities)

    Transport (e.g. if you are unable to use public transport because of your disability).

  • Capacity Building

    The Capacity Building funding is allocated across eight support sub-categories, each matched with the goals in your plan. These are listed below.

    Choice and Control e.g. training in planning and plan management

    Daily Activity e.g. therapy aimed at building your capacity to participate

    Employment e.g. employment related assessment and counselling

    Health and Wellbeing e.g. exercise advice required because of impact of disability

    Home Living e.g. support to obtain/retain appropriate accommodation

    Lifelong Learning e.g. assistance moving from school to further education

    Relationships e.g. positive behavioural support strategies to reduce behaviours of concern

    Social and Community Participation e.g. Individual life skills development and training including public transport training and support, developing skills for community, social and recreational participation.

  • Have an approved NDIS plan

  • Are under NDIS plans managed either through the NDIA, self or plan managed

  • Require support through their Core or Capacity Building funding

  • Would like to work towards their goals and independence whilst learning new skills

  • Come from a wide range of cultural, ages and experiences as well as socio-economic backgrounds

  • Require varying levels of supports from hourly in-home care right through to 24/7 supported living requirements
